LSA High Performance Computing
The College of LS&A Information Technology is piloting a program to make limited cluster-based high performance computing available to LSA faculty and researchers. LS&A clusters are intended to provide development/test facilities and processor time for runs of limited duration (under 72 hours).
LSAIT Clusters
- cluster1.lsa.umich.edu (26 nodes of two quad-core Intel Harptown processors)
- linux-cluster.lsa.umich.edu (ROCKS based Linux Cluster - 16 dual processor nodes - 121.4 Gflops)
- lsa-cluster2.lsa.umich.edu (Apple Xserve Cluster - 17 dual processor nodes - 135.6 Gflops)
- lsa-cluster1.lsa.umich.edu (Apple Xserve Cluster - 5 dual processor nodes - 40 Gflops) Cluster Status - Ganglia (Requires UM username/password)

Presentation
On April 13, 2005, members of LSAIT presented information regarding
High Performance Computing in LSA. The slides are available here in two
formats:

LSA Cluster Survey
On March 31, 2005, LSAIT conducted a survey of LSA departments to determine the number and type of clusters running in LSA. The results of that survey are available here.
