Service of LSA Staff and Faculty Personal Machines

Services Performed

We will install the “blue disk” or setup connectivity to both the University and to LSA resources, if requested.

Minimum Hardware/OS Level

For PCs we require a Pentium class processor with adequate memory and hard drive space. The machine must be bootable. We will not support Win 3.1 or 95. For Macs we require a PowerPC, in bootable condition.

Priority of Service

Our primary responsibility is the maintenance and repair of University owned equipment used by LSA Faculty and Staff. Personally owned machines will not have priority over nor take time from the business of the College.

Terms of Service (Release Form?)

We cannot guarantee data. Data should be backed up by the user prior to bringing the equipment in for service.

We will not spend College money on the replacement of parts or peripherals. It will be the users responsibility to obtain these items if required.

We cannot guarantee compatibility for software upgrades or peripheral installations. It is entirely possible that the attempt to upgrade will render the computer inoperable.

The University “blue disk” cannot co-exist with other service providers such as MSN or AOL.
