Computer Theft Guidelines

Please follow the steps below to report and replace a stolen computer:

  1. Call security (3-1131).
    -Get a complaint number/report number.
  2. Call the Property Office at Wolverine Towers (4-6251).
    -Give them the property tag number, the complaint number, and a brief description of the computer.
  3. Call Risk Management (4-2200).
    -Give them the complaint number.
    -Fill out a "Proof of Loss form" (they fax it to you) and send it back to them.
  4. Purchase a new computer (must be of like nature, not an upgrade).
  5. Obtain the invoice for the purchase or a statement of accounts to prove that it was replaced.
  6. Send the statement of account to Risk Management, Argus II, 400 South 4th St., Campus Box 4816.
    NOTE: There is a $1,000 deductible for computer equipment.
