The LSA Infrastructure group provides the following services for the College of LSA. To submit a request for assistance, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
|Desktop Infrastructure||Maintain two desktop infrastructures to support red hat linux (satellite service) and windows (WLMS) workstations. This includes maintaining and distributing software packages, security updates, and providing inventory reporting.|
|Database Hosting||We are currently migrating SQL and MySQL database hosting to ITS’ MiDatabase service. We continue to maintain FileMaker server hosting in addition to those database services that cannot be virtualized at this time.|
|Networking Connectivity||We provide networking connectivity support by working with ITCom to troubleshoot network issues, proactively upgrading network infrastructure before it becomes a problem and responding to network requests from LSA faculty and staff.|
|Server Management and Administration||Administer, Manage and monitor servers within the College of LSA. This includes managing server roles, like web services, mail services, etc... necessary to perform the functions required of the server.|
|Server Room Management||We are currently working to consolidate and minimize our server room footprint. We do currently maintain several server rooms throughout the College of LSA.|
|SharePoint Services||We run a campus-wide Sharepoint service at https://sharepoint.umich.edu. If you would like more information regarding this service, including provisioning a new site, please contact us at email@example.com.|
|Storage and Backup Allocations||We can help with planning, forecasting and selecting the necessary storage and backup solutions to fit your needs. We also currently allocate backup and storage volumes subsidized by the College of LSA.|
In addition to the Infrastructure Support services listed above, the Infrastructure team provides Security services.
