ELECTION YEAR
On Tuesday, November 7, 2006, Americans across the country will vote in the
mid-term elections. Although the youth vote surged by 11 percent in the 2004
presidential elections, citizens in the 18-24 bracket are consistently the age
demographic with the lowest voting percentage. The percentages decrease when
you isolate African American, Asian American, or Hispanic youth voters. The
following sites provide information on voter registration and polls, the candidates,
and issues important to you. There are also links to organizations that try
to get young voters out to the polls and opportunities for you to get involved.
