Summer is a great time to visit the spectacular Gateway Garden of New World Plants at the Botanical Gardens. The ornamental plants in this garden are originally native to the Americas.

Gayle Steiner

Gayle’s work with donors focuses upon major gifts and personal estate plans that support the Gardens and Arboretum. Funding priorities include the native Great Lakes Garden, Peony Garden restoration, Gaffield Children’s Garden, Bonsai Garden, Natural Areas endowment, and the summer internship program.

Gayle’s background includes fundraising for Michigan Radio and the Michigan Theater, teaching at the University of Wisconsin and St. Cloud State University in Minnesota, and reporting upon news and human interest stories for public radio stations in North Carolina, Missouri, and Iowa.

Gayle earned undergraduate and graduate degrees at the University of Iowa.
