- Eco-Restoration Workdays - Arb
Enjoy and learn about the beautiful natural areas at Nichols Arboretum as you contribute to our restoration efforts. Education and tools provided. Individuals welcome to drop-in; groups register in advance. Volunteers under age 18 must submit a permission form prior to participation; those under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Questions? Conservatory Ambassador Training
After the blossoming glory of the display gardens has faded our visitors can find a welcome retreat in the Conservatory. Ambassadors greet and guide visitors to points of interest and informal learning opportunities. This training will introduce volunteers to the Visitor Services department and cover the basics about the tropical, temperate, and arid biomes and the many fascinating plants that are found in each. Ambassadors commit to two 3-hour shifts per month and attend ongoing educational sessions. Interview and pre-registration required. FULL

Build a kid-sized scarecrow to take home! Listen to stories about scarecrows and how farmers relied on them to keep animals from raiding the farm and garden, then build and decorate your own scarecrow to take home. Bring a set of child sized clothing, we provide the rest. $10.00/ child includes activities and materials. 12-YE-23
