- Places for the Spirit: Traditional African American Gardens
An exhibition of black-and-white photographs featuring African American folk gardens captured by artist Vaughn Sills. In the spirit of outsider and folk art traditions, these culurally significant gardens reveal a unique aesthetic that is disappearing from the American landscape. Sills, an associate professor at Simmons College in Boston, traveled throughout the south, photographing gardens in Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina along with their creators.

Kick start your eco-consciousness this year with three easy ways to reduce your environmental impact. Turn recycled newspaper and dried flowers into beautiful cards, make a kitchen compost bucket, and learn how to save water for the garden. Camp Winter-Break programs provide nature-based activities during the local school winter break. All fees if any cover materials and activities. $5.00/child
