In this hot month, see the beautifully restored Riverfront at the Arb with a canoe landing, river access, benches, and picnic tables. This is a wonderful destination for visitors traveling the Arb trails or the Huron River.

  • Dog Days of Summer at Nichols Arboretum

    This free event is especially designed for our four-legged Arb visitors, and their humans, too! A great opportunity to bring the family dog (or dogs) for a day of fun in Nichols Arboretum. Event begins at the 1610 Washington Hts. entrance to the Arb.

    -Meet and greet with other local dogs and their owners

    -Don't have your own dog yet?  Meet adoptable dogs and learn about the adoption process with the Huron Valley Humane Society and Faithful Friends Animal Rescue

    -Enjoy a guided walk with Nichols Arboretum staff and discover all the Arb has to offer for you and your four legged friend
     
        The Rover (11 am and 1 pm): increase your territory with this 1-hour, moderate hike for energetic dogs (and people!) with lasting stamina.  
        Canine Cruise (10:30 & 11:30 am; 12:30 pm): this 20-minute, moderate hike is a great way to stretch your legs and sniff out a few areas of the Arb. (Note: Times subject to change, check in at the welcome table.)
        Teacup Trot (10:15 & 11:15 am; 12:15 pm): this short, gentle walk is perfect for small breeds or dogs with a little less energy on a hot summer day.

          
    -Free dog-related handouts while supplies last

    -Lunch available for purchase from Dad's Dogs (vegetarian options available, as well)
