There are many opportunities for learning at the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens. You can take a class, join a guided tour, attend an event, find information on our site and learn on your own.

Expand your knowledge about the natural world, explore a new topic, or learn a new skill by enrolling in one of the many classes we offer through the year... Tours of the Conservatory and trails at Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum are available throughout the academic year... Our youth programs are designed to give children the unique opportunity to explore plants in a variety of natural settings... Enrich your visit by joining us on a guided walk, or plan your visit to coincide with an event or exhibit... This is a University based garden project that illustrates a closed loop system, food choices, student action and the power of worms... The University of Michigan Matthaei Botanical Gardens and Nichols Arboretum provide a unique combination of public and University related conservation, education, and research programs and opportunities...
