Daniel M. Steinway is a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the international law firm Baker Botts LLP, specializing in environmental and administrative law. As part of his practice, he counsels major corporate entities and trade organizations on a wide range of other environmental, health and safety matters for major industrial and corporate concerns.
Mr. Steinway joined Baker Botts LLP after serving as the Chairman of the Environmental Law Practice Group at Kelley, Drye & Warren LLP for over 10 years. Prior to joining Baker Botts, Mr. Steinway was an Attorney-Advisor for the Office of Enforcement, at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Headquarters in Washington, D.C., and served as Minority Counsel for the Committee on Science and Technology of the U.S. House of Representatives, where he provided counsel on a broad range of environmental issues in the U.S. Congress. Mr. Steinway graduated from the George Washington University National Law Center (J.D. with Honors), and has an engineering degree from the University of Michigan (B.S.E. in engineering science, cum laude). He is the former chairman of the Environment, Energy and Natural Resources Section of the Federal Bar Association, and the Committee for Energy Resources of the American Bar Association Tort, Trial and Insurance Practice Section.
