Giving Opportunities

How can I make a difference to the MRC?

Every gift to the MRC directly benefits the first and second year students in our community. MRC students come from diverse backgrounds and have a wide range of academic interests, but they are all committed students and researchers. Gifts of every size are directed to support students as they pursue their academic, research and leadership goals.

What are some of the efforts my gift could support?

Conference Scholarships

Sponsor an MRC student’s participation at a research or professional development conference. This scholarship is often used to send first-year undergraduates to present their research at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research held each April. Funding will be applied to conference registration, transportation and accommodations: ($800–$1,200 per student).

Room & Board Scholarships

MRC students who are selected to return to the program for a second year in important leadership roles often need assistance to cover the cost of their room and board. Assisting these students in financial need will give them the opportunity to remain an active participant in the program for another year and continue to take advantage of the academic benefits of the MRC($2,500–$10,000).

Sponsor a Tutor

Help a student in need of additional assistance with introductory math, science, and engineering courses by connecting them with an individual tutor with specific expertise in the subject matter ($250 per tutor).

Research Supplies

Support an MRC student in need of additional equipment, software, or supplies to complete their research project.  ($50–$500)
