Welcome to the program! I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know you better over the coming year! I have been at the University of Michigan since 1988 when I came here for graduate school. I have my M.A. and Ph.D. in American Culture and have taught many classes at U of M in LSA. Before coming to WISE RP and UIR/MRC in October 2003, I worked as an academic advisor in LSA and as an assistant director at the Center for the History of Medicine at U of M. Prior to coming to the U of M, I was a registered nurse for many years, so you can see that I have worn many different hats in my career! My interests outside of working with students include reading, watching movies, walking, collecting antiques and pottery and looking after my English Springer Spaniel, Emma.

I am excited to begin my first year with the Michigan Research Community! Prior to my position as Associate Director of MRC, I had a variety of professional experiences in both research and student affairs. I worked in social science and education research at George Mason University and a non-profit organization in Boston, MA. I also spent several years working in residence life at the George Washington University and Babson College. I am excited to combine these experiences in my work with both research and student affairs in my new position for the Michigan Research Community!

I have worked at the University of Michigan for over 20 years. My role within the MRC is to keep the office running as smooth as possible. I do that by processing requests, reimbursements, payroll, transportation requisitions, etc. I enjoy working in this office and having an opportunity to make a difference in a student's life.
