8 Michigan in-residence credits per term
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing
- Minimum 2.5 GPA overall
- Minimum 2 semesters college-level Spanish
- Strong interest in health and nutrition as demonstrated through prior course selection, job experience, or other non-academic involvement
Participate on this program administered by the Committee on Institutional Cooperation (CIC). Enroll in two courses: a three-credit intensive Spanish language course and a five-credit practicum-based seminar that provides an introduction to health, nutrition and related environmental issues in Latin America and the Caribbean. The seminar includes visits to urban and rural sites that enhance understanding of public health issues in the Dominican Republic.
