Enroll in the American University in Cairo and chose from a full range of courses in the liberal arts (humanities, social sciences, and sciences). Courses (except for Arabic language courses) are taught in English, and the academic system resembles that at American universities. Special offerings include intensive Arabic (if admitted into AUC’s Arabic Language Institute); Arabic literature, history, and society; as well as Middle Eastern society, economics, and politics. For more information, please see AUC’s website (www.aucegypt.edu). The UM faculty advisor for AUC is Professor Gottfried Hagen (ghagen@umich.edu), Department of Near Eastern Studies.
