All instruction in English, except required modern Greek language course

Housing in Athens is coordinated by the Athens Centre staff. You will live in a private apartment a few blocks from classroom facilities, in the residential neighborhood of Pangrati, about a mile from the center of the city and from the Acropolis. You will be responsible for providing your own meals. While on field trips, you will be housed near the trip sites.

15 Michigan in-residence credits per term
On this program administered by Pennsylvania State University, students attend classes, all taught in English, at the Athens Center, a non-profit educational organization offering specially designed courses in modern Greek language and Byzantine and modern Greek history. Regular Penn State faculty along with faculty from the Athens Centre teach the courses in areas that reflect their expertise. Winter 2010 course offerings include: The Trojan War in Archaeology, Literature and Legend; Archaeology of Ancient Greece; Roman and Byzantine Greece; Modern Greek Language and Culture. For an updated course listing, please visit the Penn State website found below. Excursions to Crete, the Peloponnesus, Central and Northern Greece, and the Greek islands included.
