- Junior standing preferred; sophomores and seniors may also appy
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Minimum two semesters of college-level Greek or Latin
- Classical history/archeology majors, art history majors with a strong interest in the classics
- A background in Rome history strongly recommended
- Students applying to this program will be required to meet with the UM Classics ICCS Faculty Advisor Nic Terrenato, and obtain a recommendation from him.
This program is designed for students with an interest and background in Classical Studies. All students must take an integrated, comprehensive course entitled “The Ancient City,” which counts as two classes. In addition, students normally choose three other courses from the following: Intermediate or Advanced Latin; Intermediate Greek; Advanced Greek; Renaissance and Baroque Art History; or Elementary Italian (no other level of Italian is available). Students are required to take at least one course in Latin or Greek as part of their courseload. See Duke website for course descriptions/syllabi.
