13-18 Michigan in-residence credits per year

• Junior or Senior standing
• Minimum 3.0 GPA overall and in French classes
• Minimum 3 semesters college-level French or equivalent

Depending on their level of French language proficiency, students enroll in courses offered at the Faculté des Lettres et Sciences Humaines at the Université Cheikh Anta Diop and through its Institut de Français pour les Etrangers. Students are placed in courses depending on their level of French language proficiency. In addition, all students will be required to take a course in beginning Wolof, the African language most commonly spoken in Senegal.
