16 Michigan in-residence credits per term
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing
- Minimum 2.75 GPA
- No language prerequisites
Participants are required to take 1 core course (The Human Perspective on Development and the Environment), 2 research-related courses (Directed Research Field Study/Practicum and Social Research Methods) plus a Thai language course. Core course brings students into direct contact with people directly engaged in socio-political movements in Thailand and shows how a broad range of development and environmental issues affect local communities. Participants quickly learn to directly apply what they’ve studied in the classroom. Read about course descriptions at the CIEE website: www.ciee.org. Note: courses repeat each term, so academic year participation is not an option.
