If you need to "rush" your transcript order instructions are available on the order page through Wolverine Access.
- When ordering be sure to include Office of International Programs in the address and send it to:
University of Michigan
Office of International Programs
930 North University
1712 Chemistry Building
Ann Arbor, MI 48109-1055 - In order for transcripts to be considered OFFICIAL, they must be submitted to the OIP in a sealed envelope with the Registrar's stamp on the seal. Unofficial transcripts are not acceptable.
- It can take up to 5+ business days for the transcript to reach the OIP office from the U-M Registrar.
NON-U.S. CITIZENS & INTERNATIONAL DEGREE STUDENTS
- Any applicant who is not a U.S. citizen should contact the consulate of the program host country to determine if a student visa or other paperwork is necessary. It is the student's responsibility to learn about and follow the laws and regulations as may pertain. This process, which in some cases can take several months to complete, should be started as soon as possible.
- International degree students are welcome to apply to most OIP programs; those who apply for programs based in the country where they have grown up and with which they are culturally familiar, however, are not eligible for admission to those programs.
STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to take advantage of OIP programs but are advised to speak first with an OIP advisor before completing an application as services and accommodations routinely offered in the U.S. are often not available in other countries.
APPLICATION REVIEW
- Applications must be complete and submitted to be accepted for review.
- Completed applications are initially reviewed by OIP staff following the posted application deadlines. They are further reviewed, depending on the program, by faculty and/or staff from the University of Michigan and/or its institutional and organizational partners. Admission is decided through careful consideration of various factors that include the applicant's academic record (GPA, courses taken, performance trends and patterns, etc.), class level, fit of program to academic plan, language proficiency (where relevant), evaluation letters, questionnaire responses, evidence of character (maturity, flexibility, seriousness of purposes, disciplinary history, etc.), diversity goals, and any special factors that may be relevant.
- Students on academic probation at the time of application are not eligible for admission.
SECONDARY APPLICATIONS
- Some programs require a secondary application. Once you have submitted your primary OIP application and it has been reviewed you may be contacted (usually within 2 weeks) via email to let you know that you will need to complete a secondary application. Secondary applications are due within one week of students' notification.
Refer to the appropriate application requirements page for more information on secondary applications:
