Monthly Organizational Studies Talk (MOST) Thursday, March 20, 2008 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm; 1160 USB Whether in energy, health care, or global trade, the most dynamic areas of the economy today are at the intersection of social, environmental and economic problems. Sustainable solutions to these problems require leveraging all sectors of the economy in new and creative ways. Conventional models of business, philanthropy and government have proven inadequate in confronting the global issue of climate change because of their silo-like approach to solutions. Rohan Ma, an alumnus of the Organizational Studies Program ('06) and an Analyst for Corporate Recruitment and Public Policy at the Chicago Climate Exchange (CCX), the world’s first environmental commodities exchange, will discuss some of the challenges he sees organizations facing and the role incentives can play in addressing the global climate dilemma. |
