OS Professors Owen-Smith and Johnson win prestigious awards!
Tuesday, May 22, 2007

Professor Owen-Smith has won the 2008 Henry Russel Award. This award, which recognizes both exceptional scholarship and conspicuous ability as a teacher, is one of the highest honors the University bestows upon junior members of its faculty.

Professor Victoria Johnson was one of three national winners of the 2007 Hiett Prize in the Humanities, sponsored by the Dallas Institute of Humanities and Culture. The Hiett Prize recognizes young scholars "whose work in the humanities shows extraordinary promise and has a significant public or applied component related to cultural concerns."
