OS Welcomes New Faculty Member - Elizabeth Armstrong Thursday, May 21, 2009 Organizational Studies will also welcome Elizabeth A. Armstrong as Associate Professor of Sociology and Organizational Studies. Elizabeth received her Ph.D. from the University of California at Berkeley in 1998 and was previously Associate Professor of Sociology at Indiana University. Her research interests include sexuality, gender, social movements, sociology of culture, and higher education. She is author of Forging Gay Identities: Organizing Sexuality in San Francisco, 1950-1994 (Chicago 2002). Elizabeth received a National Academy of Education/Spencer Postdoctoral Fellowship and was a fellow at the Radcliffe Institute for Advanced Study at Harvard University. During the fall of 2009, Professor Armstrong will lead an OS490 Advanced Research Team continuing her research on an ethnographic observation of 40 students on a women’s floor in a residence hall. |
