Diane Vinokur

Nonprofit management, human service workplaces and collaboration between organizations and sectors. She has scholarly interests in the application of social psychological and organizational theories to human service organizations and their personnel. She studies the implications of such findings for nonprofit management and social work practice.

She has collaborated with colleagues in the analysis of national surveys, comparing work satisfaction and job stress among social workers employed in the public, nonprofit and private sectors. Her most recent study, "The Under One Roof Project," investigates the development and impact of nonprofit co-locations on organizations and communities. Her publications are authored as Diane Vinokur-Kaplan. Currently, she is director of the UM Nonprofit and Public Management Center, a collaboration of the Schools of Social Work, Business, and Public Policy, which she and Professor Janet A. Weiss co-founded in 1997.
