Associates

The Prison Creative Arts Project maintains an active and engaged group of “alumni,” called PCAP Associates. These individuals were members of PCAP, generally during their time as students at the University of Michigan.

Currently there are 228 PCAP Associates, around 95% of whom have careers based in social justice, both in this country and abroad. The final chapter of Buzz Alexander’s book, Is William Martinez Not Our Brother?; Twenty Years of the Prison Creative Arts Project is dedicated to the Associates, to the roles they play in the world, and to what distinguishes them as a group.

Currently, PCAP has associate hubs in the following areas:

Baltimore-Washington, D.C.
Chicago
Los Angeles
Michigan (Ann Arbor, Battle Creek, Detroit, etc.)
New York City
San Francisco

If you’re an associate looking to reconnect with PCAP, we’d love to hear from you and help you find others in your area. Please email Buzz Alexander.
