When students are ready to seek positions in philosophy, we make vigorous efforts on their behalf. This involves, among other things, helping students to assemble their job materials, preparing them for interviews, and providing support at professional meetings where interviews take place. In the past seven years, Michigan philosophy graduate students have accepted initial tenure track positions at the following institutions: Princeton, Pittsburgh, Stanford (twice), Amherst, Claremont McKenna, Scripps, West Point, Georgia State, Indiana, Iowa State, North Carolina State, SUNY Binghamton, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan, Wisconsin at Eau Claire, and Loyola Law School (Los Angeles).
Detailed records of placements for the Department's graduate students may be accessed through the links on the menu to the left. For each graduate, we list every year that he or she used the placement services of the department. (We also provide the dissertation title and degree year.)
