The Department has several prizes which it awards to graduate students for outstanding achievement. The Dewey Prize is awarded for excellence in teaching, the Stevenson Prize for excellence in a candidacy dossier, the Weinberg Summer Fellowship for achievement in the second year of study, the Cornwell Prize for general excellence and the Horace H. Rackham School of Graduate Studies has its own awards.
