Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Victor is a postdoctoral research fellow in the UM Philosophy Department working under the supervision of Dr. Peter Railton. He received his PhD from the University of Arizona in 2013. He is a member of the Prospection Group and the Moral Psychology Research Group and has been a visiting fellow at Joshua Greene's Moral Cognition Lab.
Victor works primarily in naturalistic ethics, epistemology and philosophy of mind. His current research focuses on the implications of psychological research for moral judgment, moral reasoning and moral knowledge. His dissertation developed the idea that moral judgment is a natural kind, arguing that empirical research on the causal/explanatory role of moral judgment sheds light on its underlying nature. Recent publications include "In Support of Anti-Intellectualism" (Philosophical Studies, 2011) and "Moral Reasoning on the Ground" with Richmond Campbell (Ethics, 2012).
