  • About

Daniel graduated from the University of Chicago with a B.A. in philosophy, having bravely weathered the cold for four years despite mostly being raised in Phoenix, Arizona; he thus (thinks he) is prepared for Ann Arbor.  His interests in philosophy are legion. He specializes in ancient philosophy, thinking that especially Plato (if he must choose) and also Aristotle have some surprising and important things to say to us about, among many other things, ethics.  But he is also interested in contemporary ethics, metaethics, metaphysics, and epistemology, being particularly worried about how, if at all, we can come to know normative propositions.  Plato has instilled in him an almost reflexive love of realisms of all sorts.

Outside of philosophy, given there is such an outside, his interests are pretty ordinary - film, literature, and the like.  He really likes languages and travel, hoping to do more of both in the future.  Also, he likes dogs, especially corgis, however rarely he sees his own.
