Billy studied philosophy at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and then spent three years in the graduate program at the University of Southern California before coming to Michigan. His interests lie in meta-ethics, metaphysics and the philosophy of language. Some current projects have focused on: the prospects for the semantic component of "quasi-realism" in meta-ethics, the nature of realism/anti-realism about the normative, a quantificational account of modality that isn't committed to possible worlds, and the nature of reductions in metaphysics.
