Tanner Library Committee, 2014-15
Eli studied physics and philosophy as an undergraduate at Stanford University, graduating in 2011. He is centrally interested in the relationship between epistemic practice and valuative judgment, which he has been exploring largely in the context of work in post-Kuhnian historicist philosophy of science, feminist epistemology, and social epistemology. He has a closely related interest in Nietzsche's value theory and epistemological perspectivism, as well as less academic interests in existentialist phenomenology and theories of irony.
Outside of philosophy, Eli likes listening to Memphis soul and The Velvet Underground, writing and home-recording music, and hiking around outside.
