Patrick comes to the University of Michigan after graduating with an Honours B.A. at the University of Toronto where he specialized in philosophy and minored in political science. The Greater Toronto Area is also where Patrick was born and had lived his entire life.
During his undergraduate studies Patrick was primarily focused on epistemology, specifically issues of justification and related problems, and the philosophy of science, where scientific realism vs. anti-realism caught Patrick's attention; some metaethical issues also interested him. Recently he has become interested in metaphysics, in particular modality and modal epistemology. While these areas have been his focus, Patrick is always willing to dive head first into any philosophical problem he may encounter. When not in the classroom, Patrick likes to believe that he is still a musician. This comes from his high-school experience at an arts school where he played the trumpet and sang. Patrick is also an ardent soccer supporter, watching any and every available to him; he also tries to find a chance to play from time to time.
