Social Committee, Spring Colloquium Organizer & Ad Hoc Committee on Teaching Assignments, 2014-15
Patrick completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Toronto, where he received a B.A. (Hons) in philosophy. His primary focus is philosophy of language and semantics. Specifically, he is interested in the meaning of our epistemic vocabulary. This includes questions about the interaction between the semantics for epistemic vocabulary and other aspects of semantics and the relationship between our epistemic talk and epistemology “proper”. He also has a longstanding interest in issues found within traditional epistemology, formal epistemology, and the intersection of the two.
Outside of philosophy, Patrick likes deluding himself about being some type of musician, discovering new bands and concerts, jetting back to the GTA, and drinking copious amounts of coffee. He currently serves as the Grievance Chair for the Graduate Employees Organization (GEO) at the University of Michigan.
