  I began college as a classical guitar major at the Eastman School of Music but transferred to Wheaton College where I received my BA in philosophy. My primary philosophical interests are in metaethics, philosophy of language, ethics, and semantics/pragmatics. My dissertation is on normative language (in particular, deontic modals) and how incorporating various insights from philosophy of language and linguistics may help resolve certain puzzles in ethics and metaethics. Outside of philosophy, I'm a fan of House, The Office, 30 Rock, 24, distance running, and pretending I can still play guitar.
