Craige Roberts
Professor Roberts is visiting from Ohio State University. Her main areas of specialization within linguistics are formal semantics and pragmatics. Within these fields, her principal research interests are:
- Anaphora, definiteness, and specificity
- How to formally model the role of context in interpretation: Presupposition, focus, implicature, perspective, and domain restriction
- The semantics and pragmatics of modality, mood, tense, and aspect
Professor Roberts will be teaching two classes in Fall 2009: PHIL 402 - Undergraduate Seminar in Philosophy Section 001 : Meaning and Use in Language and PHIL 550 - Topics in Philosophy of Language Section 001 : Presupposition and Information Structure.
