Looking for a Job?
We maintain a job e-mail group for job and internship posting information. Postings range from seasonal employment and internships, to mid-level, full-time positions and come from a wide range of industries including but are not limited to, non-profit organizations, local businesses, and municipal, state and federal agencies. We also send external funding opportunities as we receive them. We do not thoroughly screen each position, so you are encouraged to research the company or organization before applying.

Internship Workshops
Winter semester is a very busy time and many PitE students are looking for internships. This semester, the UM Career Center is hosting INTERNSHIP WORKSHOPS for any student interested in learning about what it takes to be successful in finding a quality internship. The workshops are open to anyone, but students are only able to attend one workshop as space is limited. The workshops will prepare participants with the tools and advice necessary for being successful in their search. The Career Center is offering multiple workshops throughout the semester and students are encouraged to register for the soonest date possible to guarantee a spot. Below are the dates and a link to register for the workshop.

Additional Internship Workshop Information:
These workshops are designed to help participants develop a deeper understanding of:
- what qualifies something as an “internship”
- resources to find internships
- tools to be successful in landing an internship, and
- general advise on important things to consider when looking for an internship
The workshop will be led by a Career Center Advisor, and will provide the opportunity for students to ask specific questions pertaining to any given field of interest. The advisor will also talk about internship search resources available to students. Students are able to attend only one of the workshops and should select a date that best fits their schedule.

We have a bookcase full of career exploration books, environmental directories, and job search skills books. The books must stay in the office, but are available to you during office hours (8-5, M-F). Sample titles include:

You are invited to subscribe* to this e-mail group on the U-M directory. We forward to it all relevant job and internships that come to the office. At its busiest (January-March), we forward between 4-6 postings a day.
*To subscribe to the e-mail group, click on the "bind" button in the U-M directory. You will be asked to enter your UM uniqname and Kerberos password. Once logged in, type "environ.jobs" in the search box. When it takes you to the environ.jobs page, simply click the "join" button in the upper left corner. You have joined the list.
Graduate Study
Graduates of the Program in the Environment go on to pursue a wide range of graduate studies. Our graduates are accepted to professional programs in medicine, law, public health, urban planning, public policy and social work. They also enter master’s and doctoral programs in fields such as Botany, Zoology, Sociology, Natural Resources and Marine Ecology.
Reference Library
Our library includes several titles related to graduate school. They have to stay in the office, but are available to you during office hours (8-5, M-F).
