SNRE/PitE Commencement Student Speaker
PitE is seeking a graduating senior to represent PitE by giving a commencement speech at the SNRE Spring Commencement Ceremony, on Saturday, May 4th in Rackham Auditorium. This speaker will address the PitE and SNRE faculty, graduating seniors and their families, and also be recognized at the PitE Graduation Reception on Friday, May 3rd.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please send a draft of your speech and email indicating your interest to ksmithz@umich.edu by 5:00pm on Friday, March 22nd.
Criteria for speeches are as follows:
- Should be about 5 minutes in length (no more than 1,000 words), and
- Positively reflect on your growth and experiences in PitE
Students should also include:
- A photo (headshot) to include in any commencement materials
- A brief bio that includes your degree plan (B.S. or B.A.), specialization, and career goals
PitE’s scholarship committee will select the speaker in April. The chosen speaker will be notified by April 10th, and then have until April 26th to submit a polished speech.
