Scholarships and Grants

General Tuition, Room and Board

The Program in the Environment does not have funds to cover routine student expenses. We will refer any such requests to U-M Financial Aid and the LSA Student Funding Office as appropriate.

Field Experience Funding

The Program in the Environment has funds to help students defray the costs of their Field Experience. Applications are available in the PitE office and on the PitE website. We make awards twice a year: in March for spring, summer and fall semester field experiences, and in November for winter semester field experiences.

*Applications deadline has passed.

*Applications for Spring, Summer, and Fall scholarships will be available in February.

Honors Thesis Funding

The Program in the Environment has made Honors Thesis Funding one of its development priorities. At present, we do not have funds to assist students with their honors thesis research. The LSA Honors Program does have limited funding opportunities; for more information see http://www.lsa.umich.edu/honors.

Conference and other off-campus activities funding

The Program in the Environment does not have resources to fund student travel to or registration at conferences, trainings and other related events. Students may make a special appeal to the director for funding if the student
• is a concentrator or minor in the Program in the Environment.
• is making the request in advance of the event.
• can document that s/he is seeking additional funding sources.

The student will need to submit an Individual Academic Enrichment Funding Request at least three weeks in advance of the date for which the student needs the funding.

Note:

Applications are available in November for Winter and March for Summer/Fall
