Student Illness

With the high number of confirmed H1N1-related illness, the University is taking precautions to dealing with this outbreak, and is asking departments to prepare for students and faculty missing classes.

There is a new link on the LSA page which routes students to an online form, where they can indicate that they are ill and will be missing class. This form generates emails to each of the students advisors and instructors, notifying them that the student is ill.

Please see the LSA Student Report of Illness website.

Students will need to log in, type in the date they started missing class, and then click on the Submit button. Two emails are automatically generated: one to the student, acknowledging receipt of their report; and one to each of the student's instructors (both faculty and GSIs) and assigned advisors. A copy of the instructor/advisor email is also added automatically as a contact note to the student's record in the Online Advising File.
