Laura is pursuing her PhD jointly with the Department of Political Science and the Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy, where she focuses on public law and private authority in global governance. She is particularly interested in the interactions between multinational firms and private regulatory networks in human rights disputes.
Before coming to Michigan, Laura worked as a Research Associate for the Brennan Center for Justice at the NYU School of Law and as Development Director at Latinos Progresando, an immigration services agency in Chicago. Laura holds an AB with honors from the University of Chicago and is the recipient of a 2011 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship.
