APPLICATION PROCESS

The Department of Psychology admits students only once each year for the fall term. To apply, you must complete the official online Rackham Graduate Application form. When completing this form you will have the opportunity to upload your Personal Statement, Statement of Purpose, and transcripts. You will also be prompted to register your recommenders, so that they will be able to submit their letters of recommendation online. All applicants who are applying to the Psychology Graduate Program should review the Psychology Department Graduate Application Checklist. Please do not send any hardcopy materials to the Psychology Department. For specific questions regarding admissions to the graduate program in Clinical Psychology, contact the Admissions Chair: Sandra Graham-Bermann, Ph.D. at sandragb@umich.edu.

For matriculation in Fall, 2010, the deadline for submission of your application is December 1st, 2009 All applicants are notified of admission decisions by April 1.

For Fall 2010 we anticipate admitting students whose interests match the folowing clinical psychology area faculty:   Drs. Patricia Deldin, Nestor Lopez-Duran, Edward Chang and Joseph Gone.  There may be additional faculty identified at a later date.

Although a comprehensive funding package is available for the students admitted to the Clinical Area, we strongly encourage all applicants to apply for predoctoral scholarships and fellowships.

Applicants with scholarly interests in education, women’s studies, or social work should consider applying to one of our joint programs in education (CPEP), women’s studies, or social work -- in addition to or instead of -- the clinical psychology program. These programs offer special opportunities for interdisciplinary scholarship.
