Clyde Hamilton Coombs Scholarship in Mathematical Psychology


Description

The Coombs Scholarship was established in 1990 in memory of Professor Clyde Hamilton Coombs. The award of $2,000 is to help defray expenses for such items as books, travel to professional meetings, and research costs otherwise not covered by fellowships. A plaque is presented to the recipient of the scholarship. Students can receive this award only one time.

Contact your Area Chair if  you would like to be nominated for this award.

Eligibility

The recipient of the award will be a student whose joint interests in theoretical psychology and mathematics would have qualified him/her for Professor Coombs' program.  To learn about Prof. Coombs' life, click here.

Application Procedures

Area Chairs must submit an eligible nominee's name (incoming and/or current student) with a supporting paragraph to the Student Academic Affairs Office, via email to psych.grad.awards@umich.edu.The recipient and alternates will be selected by the SAA Committee. If the applicant or alternates choose not to come to Michigan, the award may be given to a currently-enrolled graduate student.
