Department of Psychology and the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies

The Department of Psychology and the Department of Afroamerican and African Studies (DAAS) at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invite applications for a joint faculty position (Assistant, Associate or Full Professor). Job Summary

Research themes of particular interest include the following: (a) how biomedical, psychological, cultural, and other environmental factors interact to produce ethnic disparities in health, (b) the cultural bases of behavior and mental health, (c) the social psychological aspects of stigma, ethnic prejudice, and ethnic stereotyping, and (d) ethnic and racial identity. New laboratory space and generous start-up packages are available. These are university-year appointments.


Required Qualifications*

Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. in a relevant discipline (e.g. Psychology, Human Development, Afroamerican Studies) by the time the position starts, and a commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching in both Psychology and Afroamerican/African Studies. New faculty hired at the Assistant Professor level will be expected to establish an independent research program. More senior applicants should have a well-established, externally-funded research program with an excellent international reputation.

Open-Rank Faculty Position in Quantitative Psychology

The Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, invites applications for a Quantitative Psychology faculty position (Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor), pending administrative approval. This is a tenure-track university year appointment. The expected startdate is September 1, 2015. The primary criterion for appointment is excellence in research and teaching. We seek candidates whose research program contributes to the development of new quantitative methods. Although the specific research area is open, we are especially interested in applicants for whom quantitative theoretical modeling (which could include computational models, analytic models, statistical models or psychometric models) is an essential part of their research program. The successful candidate will participate in the teaching rotation of graduate-level statistics and methods. Quantitative psychologists from all areas of psychology and related disciplines are encouraged to apply. Laboratory space and start-up packages are available.
