Motivating Students Via Mental Time Travel

Miller-McCune wrote about a study by Daphna Oyserman, professor of psychology, and Mesmin Destin, graduate student in psychology, that showed if "small interventions" are used to show teenagers the link between schoolwork and a prosperous future, they are motivated to apply themselves in school.
