Research on multitasking is multifaceted

Professor David Meyer's multitasking research was featured in the Sunday, April 6, 2003 issue of the Ann Arbor News.

From the article:

Over the last decade, the U.S. Office of Naval Research has awarded University of Michigan psychology professor David Meyer and colleague David Kieras, a professor of computer science and electrical engineering, more than $1.5 million in grants for studies on how the brain handles multitasking.

The findings can be applied on the battlefield and to civilians at home, the researchers say. For the military, it has applications for everyday tasks such as soldiers driving on the battlefield....
