POSTER PRINTING (for fee service)

Poster printing, a service of the Department of Psychology, is a in-house service for printing large-format color academic posters, such as those for class presentations, research forums or professional conferences.

  • Files should be in PowerPoint (Office 2003 or Office 2007) or Illustrator. We can accommodate both Mac and PC files.
  • Poster size should be set as ARCH E, 36"x48", or another standard size.
  • One dimension must be less than 42", which is the width of the roll paper. We use 35 pound heavyweight matte coated paper and high-gloss photo paper.
  • Layouts should include margins of at least 0.5" on each side.
  • Images should have a minimum resolution of at least 150 dpi.
  • The charge is $6.30 per linear foot for matte and $8.00 for high-gloss. We accept shortcodes or checks for the exact amount as payment (NO CASH OR CREDIT CARDS).
  • Please include a minimum of four working days in advance. (Posters for the Undergraduate Research Forum must be submitted further in advance; please see instructions from the Honors Program regarding that.)
  • Template files are available that use colors that print reliably and which include the U-M word mark and departmental logo.

When you submit your poster, please send the following information:
  1. Your name, uniqname, contact information
  2. What type of paper would you like; matte or glossy?
  3. How are you paying for this? (If you are using a shortcode, please include the number and the shortcode owners authorization to use it. If you are in Psych Honors, list Honors)
  4. What is the file type? We prefer PowerPoint or Illustrator, although PDF is also acceptable. DO NOT COMPRESS YOUR FILES.
  5. Dimensions of the poster (length by width) in inches.
