Research Interests:
Ryan Bremner received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Bonn, Germany and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Social Psychology at the University of Michigan. His research applies approaches from emotion regulation to problems of social cognition and judgment and decision-making. He is currently exploring the effects of gaining “distance” from one’s thoughts, or self-distancing, on strengthening human reflection, including the reduction of biased thought. He also has done work on prayer, religion, aggression, happiness, and moral psychology.
