Research Interests

I study relationships among stereotypes, self-perceptions, and beliefs about stigmatized groups. My research addresses how the perceived (un)femininity of math affects girls' aspirations; the varied effects of straightforward vs. satiric disparagement humor; and how one's beliefs about how strongly race affects positive or negative event outcomes impact one's interracial interactions.
