Research Interests:

My research interests are centered around the malleability of early cognitive development, how much and in what ways it can be shaped and, related to this, how various forms of input (e.g, environment, culture, language, instruction/training) affect it. More specifically, I am interested in studying meta-cognition and how it is shaped by experience and training and the subsequent effects on learning in content areas such as reading, math and science. I am also interested in how children's self regulation and motivation interact with their ability to learn and excel in various content areas.
