My focus is on research related to psychotherapy process and outcome. I am currently working on conceptualizing and measuring the therapeutic alliance, on the causes and effects of ruptures in the alliance, on refining qualitative methodology for understanding and describing psychotherapy process, and on the measurement of outcome, particularly using interpersonal measures. I am also working on understanding the therapy experience of adult survivors of childhood abuse.
