Research Interests:

I am interested in the development of children's mathematic concepts--how their intuitive math understanding is built in everyday practice before formal schooling, how this tacit knowledge would facilitate or block their later learning and problem solving, and how to scaffold their learning and transfer. I am also interested in the role of cultural practices and beliefs played in these processes.
